U.S. Kills Suspected Militant Linked to Al Qaeda in Syria

The U.S. conducted an airstrike in Syria on Monday that killed a suspected militant leader affiliated with al Qaeda, the U.S. military announced.

The attack, which was carried out in Syria’s Idlib province, was aimed at Abu Hamzah al Yemeni, whom the U.S. Central Command said was a senior leader of the Hurras al-Din organization, which it said is connected to al Qaeda.
