Five U.S. Troops Killed in Helicopter Crash Near Egypt

Five U.S. service members on a peacekeeping mission in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula were killed when a U.S. Black Hawk helicopter crashed off the Egyptian coast Thursday, officials with the Multinational Force & Observers said.

A French and a Czech service member also died, a senior official with the operation said. One U.S. troop member survived and was medically evacuated, the officials said. Earlier Thursday, officials said six U.S. service members had perished.
